Oaklands, Hoddesdon

As the largest affordable housing provider in the Borough of Broxbourne, B3Living are working hard to address the need for affordable properties. The Oaklands development has transformed a former industrial site into 60 new homes, including 28 for affordable rent and 32 for shared ownership.

Located alongside the New River, this outstanding collection of 40no, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, and 20no, 2 and 3 bedroom houses offer easy access to Hoddesdon, local amenities and transport networks. B3Living’s 5,000th home was among the first phase of the development, along with 16 shared ownership homes – all reserved during their first weekend.

Above piled raft foundations, the apartments are of traditional masonry construction with plank floors, and the houses are timber framed, with all balconies manufactured off-site. The steep pitched roofs have slate grey tiles, and the elevations are finished using multi-buff bricks interspersed with dark grey Cedral Click weatherboarding.

All houses have private gardens with sheds and balconies to the apartments. Internally, gas central heating with ‘A’ rated energy efficient boilers, and LED down-lighting was installed. The thoughtfully landscaped communal grounds contain play equipment, bicycle storage and secure storage areas, and each home has allocated parking, with six electric vehicle charging points provided.
