This unusual project entailed the demolition of an existing barn and the construction of a 2 storey commercial building for rent. As the site had a rural setting the building was designed to give the feel of a farm house with extensive landscaping, whilst still having easy transport links.
The building is the first of 3 phases on the site and has an array of modern built-in features including; traditional strip foundations, steel frame with MMC internal walls, timber cladding, natural knapped flint, masonry and timber clad walls, pitch slated roof and air-source heat pumps.
Due to the building’s location on the site, a Klagester biodegradable waste water treatment plant was installed to handle effluent water disposal.
