Premier Inn, Dunstable

This project involved the extension of an existing 2 storey bedroom block, to provide an additional 20 double rooms within a fast track 26 week programme.

Alterations were made to the existing premises to provide an access corridor to the new rooms. At ground floor, an additional disabled bathroom and new linen room were made, and at first floor, a new team members room, linen room and plant room were added. The new bedrooms – 10 on each floor, were all formed to the new 310 size, with tv chimneys, LED lighting and ensuite bathrooms.

The construction was a timber frame with masonry façade, pitched tiled roof, block and beam ground floor and timber first floor and plasterboard partitions forming the bedrooms. For the mechanical and electrical services we worked together with the client’s approved contractors.

We liaised closely with the planners regarding the augmentation of the property, so as not to use any greenbelt land and additional parking was also made for 24 vehicles.
