This project comprised the construction of a steel frame with zinc cladding and American cedar timber boarding. The new structure was situated on traditional strip foundation with beam and block flooring.
The internal finishes included decorated fair-faced blockwork together with Ultro timber safe flooring. Male and female changing rooms, showers and toilets were also constructed and a kitchen and catering area installed, together with a gas fired water heating system in combination with underfloor heating.
The project has been Highly Commended in the category of Community Benefit in the 2012 RICS Awards
