We’re pleased to announce our appointment by Central Bedfordshire Council to deliver their latest residential development - ‘The Brook’ in Houghton Regis.
This development is a 20-unit, 3 storey transitional housing scheme, comprising of 17no, 1 bedroom units and 3no, 1 bedroom wheelchair accessible units, with office space and communal facilities including a kitchen, living/dining area, laundry and a private garden area. The Brook will house both single adults, and couples with housing needs.
Transitional housing is provided by the council, and offers accommodation to people who require emergency accommodation when they face becoming or remaining homeless. People in housing need are in a highly stressful situation, having lost their home. This might be because they were with private landlords who ask them to leave, those whose families can’t accommodate them any further, or those escaping domestic violence. The Brook will have staff on hand to offer help and support to those going through these traumatic times. They will work with tenants during their stay to identify suitable move-on accommodation, and, where required, support them in the development of the skills needed to sustain longer-term housing solutions.
