Woodlands, Watford Riverwell

Woodlands is the first phase of an ambitious regeneration scheme, transforming 70 acres of former industrial land into a new community providing new homes, jobs, infrastructure and a school for existing and new residents to enjoy.

A total of 95 spacious new 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments were provided, with 33 units each in blocks A & B for private sale, and 29 units in block C which houses a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership for Watford Community Housing.

The concrete frame structures are clad externally with contrasting feature brickwork. Each flat has an external walk on balcony, these balconies were all fabricated off-site allowing installation times on site to be greatly reduced. Floor to ceiling composite windows provide natural light to each room. All flats benefit from using a district heating system and PV panels.

Along with a new substation, associated car parking with electric charging points, internal cycle storage, refuse storage, outdoor amenity space and soft landscaping, these contemporary, highly specified homes offer views of landscaped surroundings which border the restored River Colne.
