The existing site consists of 2 parts – the former King Offa public house (demolished in 2018) and an attached piece of land currently accommodating 8 mobile homes for temporary accommodation. The site, which is owned by St Albans City & District Council, was identified by their housing department as ready for development to provide much needed permanent and affordable housing.
14 dwellings will form this development, with 13no, 3 and 4 bedroom houses and 1no, 2 bedroom bungalow. It has been specifically designed to accommodate larger family homes for the council’s waiting list, which will then release currently occupied 1 and 2 bedroom homes better allocated to smaller families.
17 parking spaces are provided as part of the development, with associated landscaping and an access road from Norman Close.
