This contemporary development provides 32 apartments for affordable rent, within 2 separate 3 storey blocks. Existing bungalows were demolished and the residents relocated to provide much needed housing stock, with 17 units comprising 10no, 2 bed and 7no, 1 bed apartments in Francis House, and 15 units comprising 11no, 2 bed units and 4no, 1 bed apartments in Joseph House. The project was designed to modern space and energy efficiency standards, ensuring that the homes were comfortable and economically manageable to live in.

Both blocks are brick clad, supported on a timber structural frame with low maintenance cladding to the top floor and balcony recesses. The flat roofs are single-ply with brown roofs to the rear sections and PV panels covering 40%. The concrete staircases have GRP decking and feature steel balustrading, with all walkway lighting powered by the PVs on the roof.

Each apartment has its own GRP decked balcony or private garden area, with communal gardens and cycle rack provision to the rear. In addition to the high quality building design, significant investment was made in improving the entrance to the Leavesden Green Recreation Ground, with access between the 2 new buildings. More communal landscaping and parking have been provided on Hemming Way itself.
