This scheme at Wendover Road, Aylesbury was phase 2 of the planned total redevelopment of the site to create an educational facility for The Pace Centre. Pace are a UK charity and school providing intensive input for children with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy.
The project, the second for this client, involved demolition of an existing administration building and erection of a single storey building to accommodate 4 new classrooms, toilets, kitchen and associated facilities. The structure comprised masonry walls with insitu concrete floors, steel profiled metal roof together with roof lights. The façade comprised profiled metal cladding with powder coated windows and doors.
Due to the distinct needs of the children we installed fixings in the ceiling voids to allow for specialist equipment to be suspended and by-fold doors so that classrooms could be made larger. The building also has a child safe area to allow the children to play in complete safety.
