Formerly home to several run-down industrial buildings, this edge of settlement development provides 55 new homes on a client land-led scheme, and is among very few developments in the borough for 100% affordable housing. There are 32no, 2 and 3 bedroom houses for families in housing need from the local authority’s waiting list. The remaining 23no, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments are for shared ownership.

Once the ground had been remediated due to contamination issues, a piled raft solution was installed and the dwellings built traditionally.

The neighbouring rural buildings and new adjacent housing development have influenced the traditional but contemporary architectural design, and selection of materials including red brickwork, K-Rend, and coloured Cedral Click, and Lap boarding to external elevations.

The 2 and 3 storey buildings are set around a central, communal, garden space in the square, with gated access to all rear gardens, ample parking, external refuse bins, and cycle stores provided.
