This attractive design and build project comprised the demolition of the existing buildings and the erection of four high specification distribution warehouses and industrial buildings totalling 1800m2. Due to poor ground conditions, the foundations were Vibro-Compacted prior to erecting steel frame structures with 8m high eaves and a profiled ‘Built up’ CA system together with double glazed powder coated windows.
The scheme was constructed to a very high standard for SEGRO PLC, property developers. The design brief required that the buildings attained BREEAM excellent ratings and that the units benefited from excellent sustainability features such as solar thermal water heating, photovoltaic cells and rainwater harvesting.
Each unit has a power floated concrete floor with offices built on a mezzanine. Motorized folding doors were also installed and the units have the benefit of a generous yard and parking provision.
